March 5 2016 brought a hot day which saw the first day of Junior semi finals cancelled.
Adelaide's Seniors played their last minor round game, being a one-dayer against Southern Districts. The Buffs claimed 3 from 4, dropping the all-important 1st Grade game at Glandore.
The one's batted first against an in-form Southerns and posted 8/224 from our 50 overs. New Redback, Cameron Valente, led the way again with 85, supported by Daniel Payne's 52 and captain Phil Neate's 43no. The Stingrays were clinical in their chase, passing us 5 down with 4 overs to go.
At Bice Oval, captain Russell McLean made 72 in our 9/197, before Jamie Barnes grabbed 4/30 to see the Southerners squeezed out for 160
Our best performed team this year, the 3rd Grade, made tough work of chasing 93, with Jimmy Takos anchoring our reply of 7/96. Earlier, new left arm quick, Trent Riddle, and skipper Lachlan Clark did brilliantly with a very economical 3/13 and 3/6 respectively.
The 4th Grade welcomed the father and son team of Andrew and Jack Ramage, but it was Cam Lithgow who saved his best for last with 78 runs in our 159. Tharidu Maliduwa, Bryce Heath and Keshara Fonseka then picked up 2 wickets a piece as we kept Southern to 152 in reply.
At the end of the minor round, our 1sts and 2nds both ended a very inconsistent 12th, our 3rds sit in 2nd place, while our 4th Grade ended the season in 8th spot.
