Riley Attenborough (4/16) and Jackson Heidenreich (2/34) led the way with the ball as Sturt were dismissed for 122 late on day 1.
Noah Roberts-Thomson (40) and Jack Appleton (40), then put the Buffalos in a good position with the bat before Zanen Syrokos struck a boundary to long on to secure the victory.
